Steps are officially “making a comeback”, ladies and gents, and while they weren’t exactly at the top of our list of 90s popstars we’d like to see again, we’re excited all the same. More than excited, in fact. This is very, VERY big news for pop fans.
Last active ten years ago, Claire, Faye, Lisa, H and Lee will be the focus of a four-part Sky Living documentary following them in the run up to the release of the Ultimate Collection. They will also discuss the reasons for their split and plan a possible relaunch.
An Ultimate Collection sounds good. Especially if a new track or two finds its way onto the tracklisting. But a relaunch? A full scale relaunch? We’re not sure there’s appetite for that.
With that said, for all they were as cheesy as cheesy can be, Steps didn’t half have some bloody good pop songs. ‘Deeper Shade Of Blue’ remains our favourite. What’s yours?
