There’s quite a few pop tracks being unleashed on the world this week, but only one that we’re interested in spending any money on. In fact, we already have. In the interests of fairness, we’re obliged to tell you about the others too, just in case your taste isn’t as refined as ours.

Remember X Factor girl group Belle Amie? Named after a porn site? Yes, now we’re jogging your memory… Well, they’re a member down since their stint on the show, but they now have a single called ‘Girls Up’, which has a really good video going for it. The song itself doesn’t have discernable verses or chorus and is, in short, absolute rubbish. Much like another new release, from another X Factor reject group - ‘Take It All’ by The Reason 4. There’s a reason these acts are rejects, but we like the idea of Belle Amie far more than we like the idea of The Reason 4 - you’re more likely to hear ‘Girls Up’ on a Love Machine Friday than ‘Take It All’ that’s for sure!

With the bad stuff over, we can move onto the good. The most under-rated popstar of 2011, CocknBullKid drops ‘Yellow’, a melodic slice of warm and smiley pop music. Anyone else getting shades of Scissor Sisters - ‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’?

We also quite like ‘It Will Not Be Forgotten’ by The Pierces. A bit mystical and folky, a bit Fleetwood Mac, overall very MOR but incredibly pleasant listening. The Pierces are currently enjoying a surge in interest after supporting Coldplay at the iTunes Festival - ‘It Will Not Be Forgotten’ was produced by bass player Guy Berryman.

Middle Jonas brother Joe releases his first solo track ‘See No More’, which is a lot more Nick Lachey than you might have imagined from the surfy pop-rock that comprises the Jonas Brothers back catalogue. Not a stellar effort, but certainly a good try - we look forward to more from Joe as he has been working with British electro-producer Frankmusik. ‘See No More’ was co-written with Chris Brown, who also provides the backing vocals on the track.

Tinie Tempah has gone Stateside and teamed up with Wiz Khalifa for ‘Till I’m Gone’ which showcases Tinie’s cheeky and inventive rhyming style, but sadly isn’t backed up by innovative beats. What happened to the Tinie that made us pass out? ‘Till I’m Gone’ is comparatively light fare, but alright if you like that sort of thing.

Finally, we have Rod Thomas, aka Bright Light Bright Light and the best song of the month - ‘Disco Moment’. We’ve already talked about this track and we won’t embarrass ourselves by gushing some more, but suffice it to say, ‘Disco Moment’ is already bought and paid for, on our heavy rotation playlist and in our hearts. WE LOVE IT.
