From 9pm Concrete will turned in to a pop grotto of Christmas cheer for the Love Machine Xmas Party, and you can find out all the details here. If you’re not signed up to our mailer (why not?) you’ll have missed our exclusive Xmas Megamix. This is a shame for you, but because we’re not total Grinches, we’ve compiled this list of tunes that you can expect to hear if you come down to jingle all the way with us tonight.

1. Mariah Carey - ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’

OBVIOUSLY.

2. Britney Spears - ‘My Only Wish (This Year)’

It’s the Princess of Pop’s 30th birthday today. We may or may not play this frothy little number 30 times in celebration.

3. S Club 7 - Perfect Christmas

Perfectly seasonal.

4. Jackson 5 - ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’

Is there a better version of this song than the Jackson 5 one? Survey says NO.

5. Wham! - Last Christmas

For the lovers.

6. Lady Gaga - Christmas Tree

Festive filth. Let’s falalalala lalalala.

7. Bo Selecta - Proper Crimbo

We needed a novelty tune. It was this or ‘Cheeky Holiday’.

8. Brenda Lee - ‘Rockin Around The Christmas Tree’

Why do we always dance to this like the cardboard cut outs in Home Alone?

9. The Pogues - ‘Fairytale Of New York’ feat. Kirsty MacColl

Who doesn’t shout “you scumbag, you maggot, you cheap, lousy faggot!” louder than all the other lyrics?

10. Elton John - ‘Step Into Christmas’

The admission’s free (well, £4).

11. Wizzard - ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday’

Amen.

12. Slade - ‘Merry Xmas Everybody’

The old songs are the best. Everyone knows that - not just grannies.

13. The Waitresses - ‘Christmas Wrapping’

We’ll probably play the Spice Girls version too.

14. Girls Aloud - ‘Christmas Round At Ours’

Just superb.

15. Kylie Minogue - ‘Santa Baby’

Without the horribly cheesy video.

Of course there’ll be the usual banging pop hits thrown in amongst the tinselly goodness and more fun than you can even imagine right now. Meet you under the mistletoe you lovely bunch!

Good afternoon pop lovers.

We have been a little quiet on the blog of late, but our club has been going strong with brilliant nights in July and August and we are back back back tonight with September’s Love Machine club night.

The last two nights have seen us branch into the often neglected world of megamixes, initially inspired by Beyonce’s Destiny’s Child mashup at Glastonbury (we still haven’t quite recovered….), then moving into a Spice Girls one last month (no particular reason, although we realised we’d never played Stop at the club before - what an oversight).

This month we change it a little - tonight is officially a KATY PERRY SPECIAL, and we are giving you a cheeky megamix NOW so that you can GET EXCITED for the club tonight, where we’ll play ALL HER HITS in full (and probably the megamix too anyway)

So those of you in London, come join us. It’s at CONCRETE, 56 Shoreditch High Street, underneath Pizza East in trendy E1 from 9pm til 2am. If you’ve never been before, NOW IS YOUR TIME. Email guestlist@lovemachinemusic.co.uk and you’ll even get cheap entry, and look cool in front of your friends.

If you don’t live in London, enjoy the megamix and think of all the fun you’re missing out on. Just think about it all night long.

KATY PERRY MEGAMIX

and as we’re nice people, here’s the previous 2 megamixes for y’all too

SPICE GIRLS MEGAMIX

DESTINY’S CHILD MEGAMIX

See you all tonight

Pictures from Love Machine July 1st

It’s almost the first Friday, Friday of the month (read: most awesome Friday of the month) and Love Machine will be invading Concrete in Shoreditch to give you a night that’s better than an S Club Party, a Party In The USA, a Party At A Rich Dude’s House, and a Party On The Phone all rolled into one.

There’s no star names this time round as we thought you might need to recover after the knockout one-two of Nicola Roberts and Oh My! from last month. Thankfully, our own “in-house” guys are just as bloody good as those famous have-a-go’s, so expect David Oh! and the Love Machine DJs to keep you dancing ‘til the world ends or at least until kick out time at 2AM.

If you’ve been to Love Machine before - AMAZING. You’ll know the drill and can confirm we ain’t frontin’ when we say that this:

this:

this:

this:

and even THIS:

is nothing compared to how it’s going to go down on July 1st.

For anyone who hasn’t been before, don’t despair! All the details you need are here and here’s the Facebook event page too.

DON’T FORGET YOUR DANCING SHOES!

Y’know, we’ve done some impressive things in the history of Love Machine. Doughnuts on the dancefloor. Octogenarian transvestites on the dancefloor. Embargo-breaking pop hits and superstar guest performers and DJs.

But this time we’ve really outdone ourselves.

On 1st April, we’ve got the hottest new girlband of the moment Parade playing. They’re signed to Atlantic Records and have just got back from supporting Alexandra Burke on tour, and they’ll be taking to the Love Machine stage to perform tracks including their debut single ‘Louder’, out this month. Will they steal The Saturdays’ girl band crown? This is your chance to come down and decide for yourself.

THIS WILL SELL OUT. The only way to guarantee getting in is to buy one of our limited pre-sale tickets here.

Oh…and did we mention they’re playing TWICE?

Before Love Machine kicks off, we’re co-hosting a super-exclusive Parade fan event with our very good friends at Teen Today. The TT crew are always down at Love Machine drunkenly lurching around the stage, so we figured they might as well make themselves useful and put on an incredible event with us while they’re there.

Tickets for this event sold out in UNDER TWO MINUTES (before we even noticed they were on sale, so we’re not sure if we can actually get in), but go over to Teen Today for more info and to get on the waiting list.

Now, amid all this Parade-related excitement, let’s remember something very important:

Lady Gaga is the most exciting pop star in the world, and that’s just a fact - a modern-day Lisa Scott-Lee, if you will. And to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta being born in New York, we’re declaring April our LOVE MACHINE LADY GAGA SPECIAL.

Get that bacon out of the fridge and start stitching those muppets together, because if you dress as Lady Gaga you’ll get in free, and there’ll be a prize for the best outfit. We’ll also be playing every Lady Gaga single (no change there, then) and giving away rare and exclusive Gaga prizes for every track we play.

You know it’s going to be good. Buy a limited advance ticket here and book your place at the pop event of the season…
